Supporting the Work
What keeps a small studio running, how you can help if you want to, and what we will not pretend about it.

The honest ways to help
Everything below matters more than money given for nothing, and three of them cost nothing at all.
- Buy a piece. It pays for stone, thread, timber and the hours.
- Commission something. A commission keeps a bench busy for a week rather than an afternoon.
- Book a workshop seat. Seats are priced at $25 for a child and $35 for an adult, which covers materials and little else.
- Tell someone. A small studio is found by word of mouth, and one recommendation does more than a month of posting.
- Leave an honest review. Honest means honest, including when it is not glowing.
Why the workshops are cheap
Drop-in fees are kept intentionally low because the workshops exist for the same reason the studio does. Someone has to teach the next pair of hands. They do not make money, and they are not meant to.
If you want to give directly
We do not run a donation button, and there is nothing on this site asking you for money you get nothing back for. If you have a reason to send something anyway, write to [email protected] first and we will tell you honestly whether it is needed.
It is not tax-deductible
Crafily is a family business, not a registered charity or a tax-exempt organisation. Anything given here is a personal gift, it is not tax-deductible, and no receipt for tax purposes can be issued. Please do not treat it as a charitable contribution.
What it pays for
Stone, silver, thread, timber, laser time, filament, packaging and postage, the cost of running this site, and the hours the work takes. It is not held separately from the studio's other money, and it is not earmarked for any particular piece.
Who may give
You must be at least 16 and using your own means of payment. Please do not give money you need. Records of money received are kept for 7 years because tax records must be. Last updated 23 October 2026.
