What happens at a Saturday workshop

Every Saturday, 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., drop in and make something. It is $25 for a child and $35 for an adult, and you take home what you made. No booking needed for the Saturday family afternoon, and no experience needed either.

What is on the table

Paper, paint, beads, glue, and whoever shows up. Children are welcome from age four, with an adult.

Bring a parent, bring a friend, bring whoever wants to spend a morning making. Adults and children work at the same table, which is the whole idea rather than a compromise.

The other classes

Engraved gift night is a two and a half hour evening designing and engraving a small wooden gift: a board, a ring box or a framed nameplate. We handle the laser, you handle the layout.

Loom and beads is rubber-band looms, glass beads and charms. Good for children of seven and up, and plenty of adults sign up too.

Jewellery fundamentals covers the basics of metal: sawing, filing, soldering, finishing. You walk out with a sterling ring or pendant you actually made. Adults and older teens.

Intro to 3D printing takes a sketch to a printed object in three hours. Embroidery starter puts a name on a kitchen towel or a verse on a hoop, with threads and fabric provided.

Why the seats are cheap

Drop-in fees are kept intentionally low on purpose. The workshops exist for the same reason the studio does, which is that somebody has to teach the next pair of hands.

They do not make money and they are not meant to. The fee covers materials and little else.

Private bookings

Any workshop can be booked privately for groups of 4 to 14. Birthday parties, bridal showers, team off-sites, anniversary afternoons.

We host at the studio or come to your space. Write to [email protected] with the date, the number of people and the ages.

Finding us

Exit 6B onto US-40 east. The studio is on your right, just past the second light. There is a free lot on site, right at the door.

Walk-in afternoons are Wednesday and Saturday, 1:00p to 4:00p, if you want to come and look rather than make. Closed Sunday.

Questions people ask

Do I need to book a Saturday seat?

Not for the Saturday family session. Private bookings and the evening classes are arranged in advance.

What if we cannot come after booking?

Tell us at least 48 hours before and the seat moves to another date or the fee comes back. Inside 48 hours the fee is held, because the materials have been cut.

Is the studio accessible?

The bench is at ground level with no step at the door. Tell us before you come if you need the table at a different height or a quieter morning and it will be ready.
