Shipping and Delivery
How a piece is packed, when it leaves, and who carries the risk while it travels.

How it is packed
Jewellery goes in a box, wrapped, with the clasp or the knot protected. Engraved wood and slate travel between rigid boards against damp. Embroidery is folded with tissue through the fold so the stitching is not pressed flat. Nothing is posted in a bare envelope.
When it leaves
Within 5 working days of the final payment clearing for a piece made to order, and within 2 working days for a piece that was ready to wear. You are told when it goes, and given a tracking number where the service carries one.
What it costs
Shipping is calculated at checkout from the delivery address you give, before you pay. On a commission, postage is quoted with the piece.
How long it takes to arrive
Ask the carrier, not us. Times quoted by a postal service are estimates, and weather, customs and public holidays all move them.
Duties and taxes
On an order crossing a border, any import duty, tax or handling fee is charged by the destination country and is yours to pay. We cannot know the amount in advance, and we cannot mark a parcel as a gift or understate its value.
The address you give
Please check it. A parcel sent to an address you gave us and later returned undelivered can be sent again once postage is paid a second time. Tell us immediately if an address changes, because once a parcel has gone we cannot redirect it.
Who carries the risk
The piece is at our risk until it is delivered to the address you gave. Ownership passes to you when it has been paid for in full and delivered. If a carrier leaves a parcel somewhere you asked them to leave it, the risk passes at that point.
If something goes wrong on the way
Tell us within 7 days of delivery or of the expected date. What happens next is in Refunds and Cancellations.
Collecting in person
Come to the bench on a Wednesday or Saturday afternoon between 1:00p and 4:00p and take it with you, with no postage to pay. Say so when you order so it is set aside rather than posted. Other days by arrangement. Ask at [email protected]. Last updated 23 October 2026.
